Fotografi
Posted by Amal Aziz - 01/02/11 at 01:02:26 pmAku tergelak bila melihat pelbagai ragam ‘Photographer’ masa kini.
Bila ditegur pula, tidak mahu mengaku, katanya… atas permintaan client, wah… sudah jadi professional? profesional self claim? how u claim yourself professional? because u work as photographer as full time? with degree or diploma or at least cert in photography?
dan keadaan menjadi lebih busuk, apabila memilih untuk menjadi photographer kerana tidak mendapat pekerjaan lain, NAK GLAMOUR, Boleh bangun lambat dan tiada masa bekerja.. Yes that is what u call profesional.
Begitu… petang ni nak belilah camera dslr, malam terus boleh jadi profesional ni..
Mungkin teguran ini perlu, sudah lama aku simpan… tapi, aku bukan profesional pun..
..banyak lagi.. mungkin entri lain
2010
Posted by Amal Aziz - 08/01/11 at 01:01:35 pmHighlights of 2010
2010 flew by so fast, with so many things happening along the way.
There have been major changes to my personal life and my career.
2010 started with me preparing to embrace the “Abah” title. All the
commitments to preparation formed most of the highlights of
yesteryear.
From the first day I got married, I never had my own crib to live in,
I used to bunk in with my inlaws or my parents. And 2010 is the year
where i finally got my own house, managing the construction from
landscaping to choosing the curtains.
A House to Call My Own
I purchased a house from PKNS. It’s not a supercrib compared to other
development projects. So many things need fixing (asked them to get it
done, but no action taken so far), so many things need renovation, but
I’ve been scanning the list from the most expensive contractors to the
cheapest ones. Just to keep my options open.
Alhamdulillah, I managed to get so many good contacts from this
experience. Now I know where I can get the cheapest electricians,
curtains and landscaping contractors.
The best thing is, when it comes to construction, we can see the
work-in-progress from day one. We have control over the items that we
choose, colours we want, and apply them however we think best to the
house we buy. It gives you great satisfaction.
Then when it comes to furnishing the house, the wifey and I find this
the most enjoyable part…until when we receive the credit card
statement at the end of the month.
Aryanna.
I had never quite thought of myself as a dad…but when u see your own
baby, a life you made, your own flesh blood, you have no idea.. the
feeling is unexplainable.
Aryanna has brought so many things and influenced my life in so many
ways. Aryanna is the peak of my success in my life. She is everything.
2010 mostly about her, since she was born in May, which is the middle
of the year (sort of), so I spent the first half of the year taking
care of Fina, preparing for her labour pains, and another half a year
raising a small baby!
It was a smooth, natural birth, no C-section needed. She could smile,
even drink milk a few seconds after she was born. She even smiled when
I recited the azan into her ear after the delivery. That moment
brought tears to my eyes…seriously!
Now, at the time i wrote this, she is almost 8 months old. She is
everything to us,
she is a super happy baby, I wish she would be like this forever.
There is so much I want to write about Aryanna, but I’ll reserve that
for future articles in 2011.
Trips
I travelled a lot in 2010, mostly on business – promotions, seminars,
meetings, I have to say I’m glad to get to globe-trot for free, thanks
to the Boss…hehe
I managed to go to Saudi Arabia, Washington, Paris, China, Jakarta,
Australia and
London. (Did I miss something out?)
But naturally, work is just not as enjoyable as holidaying with the
loved ones. Anyway, two months after Aryanna was born, I brought my
wife and the new-born Aryanna to LONDON! It was fun! We stayed over at
Shasa’s , who is our best friend since high school.
Business
2010 was a really big year for my career, where I managed to develop
great connections around the world. In Malaysia, I touched base with a
few ministers, secretaries-general etc. I’m sorry I can’t drop any
names here, to avoid any complications.
To me, good business must come with good networking and good PR. 2010
has taught me a lot in the way of PR. How to manage and meet people
from clerks to company presidents. And yes! I managed to meet Obama in
2010…the world’s most prominent leader.
As for working experience, there will always be ups n down in life, with the
working politics, environment…I think all offices have that. That is
something that I learned, I have to be strong at all times, make
myself tougher to score the goals I set …
Friends
I met a lot of new friends, while reconnecting with long lost friends
at the same time. In life,
friends are everything to us. We need to have their back to make sure
they have ours. Friends are the one who will laugh and cry with us.
And help us in any way they can.
2010 also has taught me what kind of people my “friends” are, some of
them will smile and talk pleasantly in around me, but then go around
my back and stab me repeatedly from behind.
Social Networking
I must admit I’m not a heavy Facebook user at the moment, I have
almost 200++ friend requests that i don’t have time to go through, but
for 2010, Twitter has really revolutionized my social networking
skills. I’ve been tweeting a lot, about all kinds of stuff.
And the biggest tweets in 2010 were of my wife’s journey giving birth
to Aryanna. I gave live updates from time to time. even when I was by
her side, I was holding my blackberry and giving updates to all my
followers.
Twitter has provided so many good things, contacting good friends,
keeping me closer to old friends and up-to-date info on news and those
crazy dramas in the world of Malaysian politics.
There is one more topic, that is photography, which I think I
better put in pictures…next entry perharps…
Hopefully 2011 will bring more ‘rahmat’ and rezeki to me and family.
Thanks for reading.
